西安美院自建立以来，立足古都，面向西北，关照全国乃至海外，经过几代人多方筹措，征集了相当数量的文物、标本及重要文物复制品，如今呈现在参观者面前。展出的这495件展品，按照时代顺序排布，涵盖了彩陶、石器、青铜器、瓦当、鎏金佛像、陶瓷器等种类，多角度多侧面地揭示了艺术考古的丰富文化内涵。艺术考古展厅集收藏保护、展示研究、学习教育、传播交流等功能于一体，具有较高学术文化品位，鲜明时代精神和显著内容特色，不仅是传统文化艺术中心，更体现着学院“弘美厚德，借古开今”校训中饱含的希冀，为教学提供实践课堂，拓展师生的文化视野。

Since the establishment of Xi’an Academy of Fine Art, several generations of researchers have collected numerous cultural relics, specimen and significant replicas from within the country and overseas. Displaying in the time sequence, these 495 exhibits embrace multiple categories, such as painted pottery, stone artifact, bronze, eaves tile, figure of the Buddha and ceramics, revealing rich constituents of art archaeology. Museum of art archaeology is an organization carrying the responsibility of exhibiting, researching, educating and collecting art pieces. It has superior cultural taste, distinct and prominent characteristic. It not only is the center of traditional art, but also provides a practice site for learning and teaching, that embodies the school motto.
